QUALCOMM - THE FUTURE IS NOW

Forward thinking companies like Qualcomm have most, if not all, of their bases covered. Among their environmental efforts (FTSE4Good Compliant) consider Qualcomm's fleet of hybrid vehicles and their hybrid electric re-charging stations, their transit subsidies, shuttles and bicycle lockers.

This, in and of itself, helped them place fifth, out of the Top 20 Fortune 500 companies, as one of the "best workplaces for commuters". Company wide the entire work force is committed to a number of other environmental considerations.

These include policies to: minimize, substitute and, where possible, eliminate the use of hazardous chemicals in processes and operations; efficient use and conservation of water through management control and routine practices; and, efficient use of energy through management controls and routine practices.

Further, the results have borne out the policies: Qualcomm has been distinguished with the 2008 - Recycler of the Year award as presented by the City of San Diego Environmental Services Departments, along with many similar awards spanning over a decade.
